Sourdough butter crackers are crispy, flaky and have a mild cheesy flavor!  Bake them right away or long ferment in the fridge.

01 Mix the dough.

Mix the dough.

Mix the melted butter, sourdough starter discard, all-purpose flour and salt in a large bowl.

Let the dough rest.

Cover the bowl and let the dough to rest for 20-30 minutes. (Or in the fridge for up to 2 days.)

Roll and cut the dough.

Roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper. Cut into rectangles and prick with fork.

Bake the crackers.

Bake the crackers for 15-17 minutes, checking to make sure they do not over-brown.

Allow the crackers to cool and then store in an airtight container on the counter.
