Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. (900 g) green beans
  • ½ lb. (227 g) chopped bacon
  • 1 teaspoon (2 g) onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon (3 g) garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon (4 g) fine sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon (0.5 g) black pepper

Instructions

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil. Wash the green beans and trim the ends.
  • Add the green beans to the pot and return to a boil. Boil for 5-6 minutes and drain in a colander. Keep the green beans in the colander to dry off while you move to the next step.
  • Cook the bacon in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Turn the heat down to medium and drain all but about 2 tablespoons of grease from the pan.
  • Add the green beans to the pan, along with the seasonings and stir to combine. Cook for 5 minutes or until the green beans are heated through.
